Another adult beverage safe for gluten free living

Gluten-Free Living: It sure is summer…
Check it out, hard cider is a great alternative for adult beverages for those who must live a gluten free life. Woodchuck cider is my favorite domestic cider and if you enjoy beer but cannot have it, this might be a nice alternative for you! Woodchuck come in several flavors and sometimes has seasonal ones out. We find Woodchuck at BevMo and the billiard hall in downtown Pismo. So take it home and enjoy it or enjoy it while playing pool. Either way it's a win win!

Are you a dog park person?

We are! We have a little dog named Olive. She is a quirky little thing that brings us hours of joy and many smiles. She enhances our life so much and we want to make sure we enhance hers. We are so glad we have a dog park in the Five Cities area and try to take Olive several times a week. She loves to go and has made many doggie friends there.

If you have never been to the dog park, it's in Arroyo Grande in the park on the corner of Elm, near Fair Oaks. It's a lot of fun and they have an area for big dogs and one for small dogs. It's great for canine and human socialization! I think it's one of the best things the City has done and now we have a safe place to take our furry friends and let them off leash.

Pismo is considering a dog park, and that would be wonderful! To have two dog parks in south county would be fantastic. Check out the website for more details. http://fivecitiesdogpark.org/

I find so many people not aware of the park and who are excited at the prospect of taking their dog. The park is also always looking for volunteers and donations, if you'd like to help out. It's a great asset for our community!

Why airlines cancel some flights but not others

Why airlines cancel some flights but not others

Seems like flying "up front" may have more perks than we realize, while those who purchased discount tickets may be the ones who lose the most.

Is it time for a massage?

Wow! I had the best massage this past Monday from Mary Meinert. I won it at the last Arroyo Grande Chamber mixer and was elated. It had been ages since I last had a massage and I could have really use (or many) over the last year and a half. Anyway, I contacted Mary to make an appointment and let her know I had a gift certificate. She was very friendly and accommodating. She will come to your home or you can go to her studio in the Village. I decided to go to the studio and it is located near the Arroyo Grande Vet Clinic but it's very quiet and peaceful back there.

When I got there Mary asked if I had any area I wanted focus on but I did not. Once the massage began, with hot towels on the back, I knew I was in for a treat. Mary is very skilled and passionate about what she does. She has not always done massage, but fell into it as her passion after a long career in real estate and escrow. I have to say that this was one of the best massages I have ever had. She makes sure each part of your body is pampered. I will certainly go back to her next time I'm ready for a massage.

If you want to contact Mary for a massage of your own, here phone numbers are 805-481-6638 or 805-40-2672. Tell her Amy at Luxe sent you!
